The correct answer is:
CHECK THE SOLUTION.

(i) Since Δ E = q + w = 80 – 30 = 50

So for ADB

Δ E = q + w ; 50 = q – 10 ; q = 60 J

(ii) For B to A, Δ E = – 50 J

w = + 20 J

q = – 50 – 20 = – 70

heat is liberate.

(iii) In ADB process, DB process is isochoric, so w DB = 0

So , Δ E AD = q AD + w AD

–40 = q AD + (–10) ; q AD = –30 J

Now q AB = q AD + q DB ; 60 = – 30 + q DB

q DB = 90 J
